Smart cat feeder with helpful tracking features

Got this amazing cat feeder during Thanksgiving 2025. My cat flips the food around the bowl sometimes, so I love that this machine comes with a food barrier on the side that keeps the food from flying everywhere. The machine can track details as specific as how many grams my cat eats, which helps me understand her diet behavior and habits. Now I know exactly how much food to set for each scheduled feeding. It wasn’t too complicated to set up either, the company provides a clear video tutorial that walks through the whole process. Even though I don’t have multiple cats to use the collar tag feature, it’s nice to have for the future if I get more cats or if my cat ever needs a more controlled diet. The only thing to pay attention to before buying is that the backup power uses three D-size batteries instead of standard AA batteries. Other than that, the machine has been working really well for us.

Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, and Worth the Investment

I purchased the PETLIBRO RFID Automatic Cat Feeder in May for my two female cats, and overall, it has been an excellent investment. The package arrived in perfect condition, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Setting up the app was straightforward and works smoothly with no technical issues. The sleek design fits nicely in my home and looks modern, very well designed and sturdy. One of the best features is how easy it is to clean and maintain, which is a big plus for me. The feeder uses RFID collars to personalize meals, which worked perfectly for my older cat. However, my younger cat sometimes managed to remove her collar by biting it, so we had to keep it loose for her comfort — which means it’s not a perfect fit for all cats. Also, both cats were a bit scared of the feeder at first and took a couple of weeks to get used to it. This feeder solved the problem of my older cat stealing food from the younger one, helping to regulate their diets. Since I travel frequently, I love being able to monitor feeding times and portion sizes remotely through the app — it really gives me peace of mind. While the price is a bit high, I believe the advanced technology, convenience, and thoughtful design make it worth the investment. If you have multiple cats with different diets, this feeder offers a reliable and easy-to-use solution.

Helps on multiple levels!

We’ve got an old fart and a kitten rescue. Old fart eats expensive kidney food like a bird and rescue kitten has a voracious appetite. I didn’t know how to keep them from eating each other’s food and considered feeding them both the more expensive stuff, but I did the math and his food costs $0.75 more per cup (and she eats so much more than him)! So these should end up paying for themselves after about a year. Then I realized a few bonuses: 1) also keeps the dog from eating their food 2) the app tracks who eats when and how long they are there… Interesting and likely useful in the future 3) easier for us to be gone a few days (used to need someone to come over once a day to feed them separately… And it’s not like they could stick around to be sure they didn’t swap food! Other things: 1) He needs soft food too, so I only dispense the minimum amount of hard food (he doesn’t eat much of that anyway) and every evening I manually open the bottom to add his soft food. Then he can pick at it at his leisure without me having to worry she’ll go eat it all. I wash his bowl out every morning in between. I cobsidered the wet food dispenser by the same brand but it serves the food cold (to keep it safe from bacteria), so this works just as well since old guy eats more if it’s warmed up. What a diva. 2) the door sometimes won’t close all the way, but not frequently enough for me to dock a star 3) we lost power for 35 hrs and the battery backup dispensed food and opened the door, but kept the screens off (likely to conserve power) 4) I turned off the food call. I found it obnoxious. It’s out in our kitchen, so the sound of the food dispensing doesn’t bother us. 5) No issues with the side barriers being flimsy. Overall, very grateful these exist! They save me time (refereeing mealtimes), money, and housework (He’d start peeing on stuff again if he eats her food and gets a resurgence of urinary crystals). It felt like an indulgent purchase at the time, but I have zero regrets and am so glad we bought them!

Exactly what I was looking for!
My cat was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and she was put on kidney food, which meant I could no longer feed my cats from the same automatic feeder and I had to run interference every feeding time to keep them from eating each other’s food. These feeders were exactly what I needed! Set up was a breeze, including the app. I can schedule the feedings automatically from the app which is so convenient, the ID feature with the opening and closing lid works perfectly to make sure they only eat their food, and I can monitor how often they are eating with the app! I could not be happier with these feeders. I have noticed a change in their eating habits but I’m assuming it’s normal due to less pressure over sharing food- before they both rushed to eat their food right at feeding times and had nothing left, now they seem less eager at feeding times and graze throughout the day. It does seem like they might be eating slightly less overall because of this (the bowl is rarely empty) but I know they are eating.

You won’t regret it!

Amazing! I first I was worried about the cats being afraid of the lid opening and closing, but they have acclimated and adjusted to the nuance of it completely fine. The male cat is on a prescription diet so he has to eat a specific food and it keeps the female cat out of his food and vice versa. I do put wet food in there sometimes the refresher bags that you put in the lid in the compartment where you store the food does expire pretty quickly every 14 days so just keep that in mind other than that I have no complaints. I like the app a lot and the cats Are completely used to their new feeders and it keeps our dog out of their food too overall it’s a win all around.

I bought three!

I splurged and got 3 of these for my hoard. One of them is very driven by food and will steal the others’ food whenever she can. I also have a 4 mo old kitten with different food. Not only will these allow me to let the other cats free-feed throughout the day, but it will ensure that my chonky thief won’t steal. I also sometimes work late hours and these will ensure consistent meal times. I set these up in about 10 minutes. in terms of the equipment, the cords are basically just USB cords which made it easier to plug them into a power strip since the brick they provide is massive and inconvenient. The sliding cover mechanism was much quieter than I expected which helped when training my cats to use their own feeder. It took about 5 minutes to train each cat which bowl was theirs and even though they’ve tried to use the others they cannot gain access. Only downside here is that it takes 10 seconds for the door to close so if my chonky cat is feeling motivated, she could get in. Which brings us to the RFID chip collar: I almost didn’t buy this because of all of the reviews about how crappy the collar was. I decided to get it anyways, and I’m glad I did. The collar that comes in the box does seem cheap but I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn’t required – the chip part comes off. All of my cats wear collars anyways so I attached it to their bells. For my 2 adult cats it’s no big deal, but it is a little large for my kitten though she doesn’t seem to mind. I’ve only used this for one day but it already seems like it will be good for my situation. It seems easy to clean, well sealed (so chonky cat can’t break in), and the app functions pretty easily. Time will tell on the rest! If you have multiple cats and can afford it, go for it.
